Chinedu is a budding development economist and energy policy analyst passionate about using research and innovative solutions to reduce absolute poverty in Africa. After spending over five years in energy and development research, Chinedu knows that for rapid development to occur in Africa, there has to be an increase in energy investment as well as in Research and Development (R & D), especially on alternative or renewable energy sources.
He has been involved in various social entrepreneurship projects in energy and development and was a finalist in both the Stanford Design Challenge 2020 USA and the Pan-African University (PAU) Innovation Challenge 2020 Algeria, for his team’s design of solar-powered refrigeration and water treatment technology. He has also attended high-level development training and fora in different countries such as Germany, Austria, UK, and the Niger Republic. In addition to his research experience, he is a mentor to many aspiring graduate scholars.
He holds a BSc. and an MSc. in Economics from the University of Nigeria, as well as an MSc. in Energy Policy from the Pan-African University, Algeria.
